The Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault believes and supports victims/survivors, and we want to make sure their voices are heard in the 2018 election. We are inspired by the brave victims/survivors and their allies who have spoken out against sexual assault and oppressive systems which may further victimize individuals affected by sexual assault, abuse, and harassment. In order to create a world in which all victims/survivors of sexual violence receive a comprehensive and socially just response, MNCASA calls on all victims/survivors and those who support them to make their voices heard at the polls on November 6. Use the information and resources below to prepare for the election.
Voting is one of the many important ways we can improve the response to sexual violence and challenge systems that promote the root causes of sexual violence including sexism, racism, heterosexism, classism, oppression of people with disabilities, religious oppression, and ageism. By electing leaders who will believe and support victims/survivors, while fighting against all forms of oppression, we can build a better world.
