Founded in 1970 by a group of volunteers, 360 Communities is a non-profit organization which provides services to more than 17,000 people annually in over 40 locations in Dakota County, Minnesota. Holistic services include a network of five food shelves, two family resource centers, two domestic and sexual violence shelters, and two programs that support school success from birth to high school graduation.

This position writes grant proposals to secure financial support from foundations, government, and corporate funders for operating funds and special projects. The Grants Manager works with program staff to develop proposals, maintain compliance, and fulfill reporting requirements.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrate commitment to the agency’s mission statement and core values at all times. The mission statement is “360 Communities delivers safety and stability that improves lives.”
• Perform prospect research on foundations and government grantors to evaluate alignment with agency services and goals.
• Responsible for the full range of activities required to write, prepare, submit, track and manage requests for proposals, letters of intent and applications for public, private, corporate, state, federal and local government grants to achieve funding goals.
• Coordinate and write reports and comply with all funding partner reporting requirements and provide agency oversight to maintain compliance.
• Complete required mid-year and year-end progress reporting for government grants.
• Research best and/or promising practices to strengthen organizational initiatives and uncover collaborative opportunities with other organizations.
• Collaborate and communicate, as necessary, across departments and service areas to strengthen relationships and proposals, gather information and report to funders.
• Assist in building and maintaining relationships with funders.
• Determine strategic development plans and activities and assist in preparing annual fundraising plan for foundations/grantors.
• Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as the need is apparent or as requested or delegated.
• Bachelor’s Degree and three or more years of foundation/grant writing experience.
• Experience with research, project management, proposal writing and institutional donors.
• Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Previous experience with non-profit fundraising.
• Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and ResultsPlus.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
• Must possess Personal Auto Insurance limits of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000 or a combined single limit of $300,000.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Typical office environment, exposure to fax machines and copiers, computers, scanners and printers.
• Flexibility to work off-site in order to support successful completion of essential duties and responsibilities.
• Employee is subject to minimal noise level.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to write, type, and use computers.
