PaHoua Vang (PajHuab Vaj) has been advocating for survivors for over 7 years. She holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota where she focused her studies on sexual violence. In the Fall of 2015, PaHoua started volunteering with SOS Sexual Violence Services and worked there as the Client Services Coordinator. She provided direct service advocacy with victim/survivors, coordinated the support groups, and worked on a variety of projects related to data and evaluation. PaHoua was also involved in many collaborative efforts including the Criminal Sexual Conduct Statutory Reform Working Group, the Ramsey County Sexually Exploited Youth Protocol Development, the Start by Believing campaigns in Ramsey County, and more. In addition to the sexual violence work, PaHoua also remains connected to the community in other ways. She taught the Foundations of Public Health course at St Kate’s as an Adjunct Professor in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, she took on a more active leadership role with her family business, Golden Life Home Health Care, supporting a diverse group of clients and employees. When she’s not working, you may find her with family, friends, or on a walk with Chester.
