In an effort to meet our commitment to changing the public environment in which sexual assault happens,
MNCASA has developed and maintained a multi-faceted media campaign since 2000. With federal prevention
funds granted by the Minnesota Department of Health, MNCASA has been able to present a comprehensive
message targeting youth. Through our work in the field, MNCASA felt it essential to focus our media
campaign on the most common form of sexual violence among youth and young adults. Further market
analysis and focus groups with youth identified the most critical specific messages to present and the
best media in which to present them.
The MNCASA media campaign consists of radio public service announcements, bumper stickers, posters,
postcards, bus advertisements and billboards. The messages have been provocative and have resulted in
positive and enthusiastic attention in Minnesota and across the nation. The advertising firm that
developed the materials, Clarity Coverdale Fury, has received several national awards over the years
for their work.
